Disgraced Wall Street financier Bernard Madoff is under even harsher scrutiny this week after he violated court orders by mailing over $1 million in valuables -- including gold and diamond watches -- to friends and family.

Prosecutors now calling him a "danger to the community" while a judge is considering whether the ability to commit economic harm can make someone like Madoff a danger to others.
