America’s Talking: 10/20

320_swine_flu_vaccine2The H1N1 vaccine will arrive too late to help most Americans who will be infected during this flu season, according to a study conducted by scholars at Purdue University, The Washington Times reported on Tuesday.

The study also estimates that the virus will infect about 60 percent of the U.S. population, although only about 25 percent of Americans will fall ill.

We want to know:

What are your questions about the H1N1 vaccine?

A medical A-team doctor will join us in 2 p.m. hour to answer your questions.

My son was “clinically diagnosed” today to have H1N1. This diagnosis was based on the primary symptoms of the swine flu (fever, coughing, headache, and sore throat). My doctor told me that they are no longer swab testing for the virus but of the 1) high cost of the test (>$300.00) and 2) the limited availability of these tests, which are more needed in hospitals than doctors’ offices. I have two other children at home, who have both received the first round of the vaccine but will not be fully protected until the second dose in four weeks! All this seems a little too little too late! If all these children had been fully vaccinated in the summer, we would not be in panic mode. The “wait and see” attitude of government is getting very old and tiresome!

When the post-office was ultimately determined to need a better mode of delivering the mail, we got the zones that are zip-codes. Sort of like subsystems to the main system if you can allow that much in analogy. My point is, why do we limit ourselves to one CDC -? Why not go 4 to 9 better? NSE & W, or, follow the zip-code map & centralize one in each of those? We do have I think you know, backup to the white house, etc. the houses of congress, should any calamity befall them, natural or otherwise. If more than one CDC does exist, then is it just a matter of a well kept secret that that is not broadcast on the news? If there is not more than one, then what keeps there from being more than one? If we had 4-9 of them now, is there not at least a chance like even that of a snowball in hell, that vaccines as pressing as the one for H1N1 could be dispensed to the public here in a better fashion than what we are now seeing? Months ago we were informed that the early part of this month would see much more than we are seeing and now projections arrive of an extreme and possbly even too-late shortfall arrival may occur. This it total bs. Can’t we get anything right in this country when it has so much direct bearing and personal significance to such a large part of the population here and now, meaning, the entire population? Isn’t one old saying still worth its salt.. better to have X and not need it, than need X and not have it ??

Shouldn’t more be done in the ways of protecting the high risk people?? I am 33 weeks pregnant and the vaccines are not available here yet… I went to see my OBGYN for my prenatal appointment and he had interrupted my appointment to take a personal call on his cell phone (which i thought was rude) and came back and told me that his wife is at home with h1n1 and she has a fever, aches and puking… He took no precautions… no gloves, mask or even washing hands… i know he hasnt been vaccinated because the health dept. is the first to get them and they said the first to receive the vaccine when available is high risk/pregnant women and health care workers… the cdc is making a big deal about the pregnant women getting vaccinated but the vaccines are not available and nothing is being done to keep us from getting sick.. shouldn’t more be done?? This has me completely irate!

I was wondering why The President’s children are not vaccinated with the H1N1 vaccine. I am very weiry about the vaccine I have a grand-daughter 2 1/2 and have not decided yet if she will get it. I have Lupus and I am not going to get the vaccine unless of course I decide that my grand-daughter will get it. We get the Seasonal Flu shot but I don’t think that enough has been check into about this other vaccine I believe that in months or years to come side effects will come out and then it is too late.

How about Obama’s promise to provide the H1N1 vaccine to other countries? Has the US sent shipments to other countries? Without consideration to first insure that all americans receive the vaccine? FOX, please check on this. Thanks!
In the mean time, it is like the CDC is cherry picking what portions of the population (by Geo, Age, etc) should receive the vaccine. The pediatrician here in Austin said they have received 240 of the nasal mist and are only able to vaccinate healthy 2 and 3 year olds. My son is 3 but has horrible asthma – he has to wait for the shot, AND based on the CDC’s guidelines, our 18 month old daughter is too young to receive the vaccine. We really question how beneficial it will be to have our son vaccinated – if our daughter is not also vaccinated? And the body needs 21-30 days after receiving the immunization in order to benefit. No matter if the vaccine showed up tomorrow, it would still be too late! We are genuinely concerned for the safety of our children, and particularly our 3 year old son. He was born with a submucous cleft palate. In the first year he had two surgeries (sinus and ears), pneumonia (1 week in the hospital), rotavirus (3) times, C-Diff (took 6 months to clear up), he has stopped breathing twice, and been rushed to the ER with a fever of 103-105 on three different occasions. We are certain there are other parents with similar or worse concerns. Right here in the USA – we can’t do a better job of protecting our…

When my pregnant wife called her doctor, my doctor and our 2yr old’s pediatrician, why did they both say that they haven’t received their shipments of the vaccines yet? It seems that every pharmacy has an abundant supply, but most insurance companies aren’t covering the vaccine from them. Aside from major corruption, I can’t understand why this would happen.

  • Geoff from KS says:

If a person develops the flu before they receive the vaccine as may be the case for many this week according to the computer models, does the person still need to receive the vaccine or will they already have immunity moving forward since they’ll have already had an immune response to the virus?

I am trying not to freak out, but a child in my son’s daycare developed symptoms of the H1N1 flu on a Saturday and was dead by Sunday. She was not known to have any other conditions and was a perfectly healthy 4 year old. Is the media/gov’t hiding from us what can really happen with this disease to prevent panic? Why are little children ending up on ventilators and dying at what seems to be an alarming rate? Is it really a higher rate than regular flu, or is it just more publicized? Everyone seems to assume that this flu is only deadly if you have an underlying condition, but to me, it doesn’t seem so….what is the REAL story? Are healthy children dying at an increased rate from this disease?

My son has a history of pneumonia, so I was trying to wait for the shot version of the vaccine, but now, I feel like I should take my chances with the mist. Thoughts?

    Thanks

  • from everything I have read so far, Iam wondering just how safe the H1N1 vaccine is if studies are not conclusive. Especially with pregnant woman and children? I have read that it has caused deformities in lab animals and sterility so why would we subject those vulnerable populations to this vaccine? And are we as the public being told the whole truth about the findings?

  • Jennifer Castro says:

Once you have this virus, will you have enough antibodies to fight it if you are exposed again, or can you get it more then once?
If you cannot get the virus after having had it, should you be vaccinated still?

I see a lot of talk about H1N1 deaths, but I have yet to see anyone with the virus interviewed on TV. Where are all the victims? Who died? Can we see someone speak to the relatives of anyone who died from H1N1? Where are the reporters on this story? Just reading the press releases from the pharma companies isn’t reporting!!!

    Dear Friends:

A “National Emergency” under FEMA allows Obama + Czars to legally shut down the US Government and takeover the US, i.e., Chavez North.

Lookout folks, here it comes – His real plan from the beginning!
