House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled a retooled health care overhaul plan today intended to bridge differences among Democrats and open a history-making floor debate on extending health insurance to nearly all Americans.
Speaking on the West Front of the Capitol surrounded by Democratic lawmakers, Pelosi, D-Calif., said the House's version of a health care reform bill will include a government-run insurance option and extend coverage to 36 million uninsured Americans. She said the bill will lower patient costs and reduce the national deficit.

I am a self employed farmer, It is all one can do just to have a high deductable health care plan. What does this bill say about the self employed? No one seems to say anything about us.
Today, U.S. Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-03) sent a letter to President Barack Obama inquiring why Commerce Secretary Gary Locke was given authority to authorize the export of United States missile technology to the People’s Republic of China, and asking the President to disclose the nature and extent of conversations about equipment and technology transfers with Chinese Communist Party and government officials.
This govt is corrupt and nothing they do will help the average American. We need to throw all those bums out of office and start over. America is better than this
I just pray that this leftist liberal movement can be brought down before the USA as we have enjoyed it all our lives, is reduced to ruin. And I fear that we’re not too far from the point of no return already.
The calls for a total clearing of current House & Senate members .. on BOTH sides .. might well be necessary. Sadly the situation IS that dire now.
It’s a long way to November 2010 folks, but let’s get busy and make some REAL change over the coming months. Let’s stop the march toward a socialist America !

It is a total scam to continue to take over our lives. None of them listened and when Pelosi says, we listened to the people, like everything else she and they say, it is a lie. This is not America anymore.
The democrats are acting like they are doing us a favor they work for us and its our money they are wasting money we need to show those in D.C who in charge next time we vote we need to send those bums home for go.
I am a civilian who works for the Federal Government. They keep saying that we will be able to keep our health care plan that we have now. It is time for us to renew our health care policy and the insurance company is already stating that our cost will be 20% higher and that certain area’s in my state will no longer be covered by my company. The area’s they listed as not being covered under the revised policy is area’s with a high number of military people an large VA hospitals. I have found out recently that there are bills before congress that will eliminate the Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan (FEHBP). So, if I can keep my plan which is what the Obama and everyone says, then why are there bills to take it away from us. With the large network that my health care plan has and I lose it, I will not be able to afford the insurance on the outside. I will be like the people that don’t have insurance now.
Trace, I just heard your discourse with the lady senator and she has no idea what the health care bill will do. I am 77 and worked for over 20 years with a state department of employment, and have seen all kinds of government laws, e.g., minimum wage, etc., and anything and everything that interferes with allowing the market to determine costs has caused problems with the economy every time. And it will if this bill is passed.
This administration & this democrat controlled congress has lost creditability. All they do is lie, cheat and steal. This frustrates the people to no end. There is a biblical proverb that says
“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.”
Believe you me, the people are groaning.
I would love to see how the government would react if we had the power to just order them to accept a plan or issue without a choice and demand payment for this without a choice. I don’t think it would be something they would enjoy. That said, it isn’t something the American people desire either. I suggest that Mrs Pelosi just enroll herself in this “reform” and leave our freedom of choice in place.
It,s all about control and money, they won,t to get there hands on the money that the Insurance companys take in every month. That way they can cut survices and stall services hoping you will die or get over it. Another thing by furnishing Ins. to all Illegals and people who won,t work and have no income the build there base of people that will vote for them.
Members of Congress and our government should be required to give up their health insurance and take the one that they deem to be acceptable for the American people. If it is good enough for those people who vote in and employ these members of Congress, then it is good enough for Congress! If they won’t take it, either should the American public.
I have heard that the largest employer in the world is the Chinese army, the second is the Indian railroad workers and the third is the National Health Service of Great Britain. This health care plan is not about health care, it is about power and control. If passed, this would create an army of health care workers that would, for their own interest, perpetually vote itself funding and would keep their benefactors in office forever. This voting block would be equivalent to a dictatorship. I also have heard that Lenin felt it necessary to get control of the nation’s health care system to achieve his goals. God help us all if this passes.
I just am appalled at the people we put into congress, we all need to do more vetting.
I feel that the Health Care bill was wriltten by a bunch of so called “experts” but none dreally know the difference between the sniffles and a full blown cold. This bill as I see it would hurt both the Medical Community and the Patients them selfs. First off I needed much more time to really read the bill, so many referals, to check out the references to understand the bill will take many more hours that 72 hrs.
I see a lot of $$$ from the tax payers flying out into never ending space.
One other comment: The U S Flag is a emblem of FREEDOM AND HOPE. I PLEDGE ALLEGENCE TO THE FLAG OF THE U.S. STATES OF AMERCIA…… In 19035/36 First thing I learned around the flag pole . I still salute the flag in passing. (Retired Military)
